What is the most important information I should know about Lortab?
• Hydrocodone is habit forming lortab. It is possible become physically and/orpsychologically dependent on the medication lortab. Do not take more than the prescribedamount of medication or take it for longer than is directed by your doctor lortab. Withdrawal effects may occur if Lortab is stopped suddenly after several weeksof continuous use lortab. Your doctor may recommend a gradual reduction in dose lortab.
• Avoid alcohol while taking Lortab lortab. Alcohol can increase drowsiness anddizziness caused by the medication, possibly resulting in unconsciousness anddeath lortab. Also, acetaminophen can be damaging to the liver when taken with alcohol lortab.
• Lortab may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness,including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, pain relievers, anxietymedicines, seizure medicines, and muscle relaxants lortab. Dangerous sedation, dizziness,or drowsiness may occur if Lortab is taken with any of these medications lortab. Tellyour doctor about all medicines that you are taking, and do not take any medicinewithout first talking to your doctor lortab.
• Lortab may cause constipation lortab. Drink plenty of water (six to eight fullglasses a day) to lessen this side effect lortab. Increased fiber in the diet may alsohelp to alleviate constipation lortab.
What is Lortab?
• Hydrocodone (related to codeine) is in a class of drugs called narcoticanalgesics lortab. It relieves pain lortab.
• Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effectsof hydrocodone lortab.
• Together, acetaminophen and hydrocodone are used to relieve moderate-to-severepain lortab.
• Lortab may also be used for purposes other than those listed in thismedication guide lortab.
What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Lortab?
• Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have
· a history of alcohol or drug abuse;
· kidney disease;
· liver disease;
· asthma;
· urinary retention;
· an enlarged prostate;
· hypothyroidism;
· seizures or epilepsy;
· gallbladder disease;
· a head injury; or
· Addison's disease lortab.
• You may not be able to take Lortab, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove lortab.
• Lortab is in the FDA pregnancy category C lortab. This means that it is notknown whether it will be harmful to an unborn baby lortab. Do not take this medicationwithout first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnantduring treatment lortab.
• Lortab passes into breast milk and may affect a nursing infant lortab. Do nottake this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feedinga baby lortab.
• If you are younger than 18 years of age or older than 60 years of age,you may be more likely to experience side effects from Lortab lortab. Your doctor mayprescribe a lower dose lortab.
How should I take Lortab?
• Take Lortab exactly as directed by your doctor lortab. If you do not understandthese directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you lortab.
• Take each dose with a full glass of water lortab.

What are the possible side effects of Lortab?
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingLortab and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat;swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
· slow, weak breathing;
· seizures;
· cold, clammy skin;
· severe weakness or dizziness;
· unconsciousness;
· yellowing of the skin or eyes; or
· unusual fatigue, bleeding, or bruising lortab.
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur lortab. Continueto take Lortab and talk to your doctor if you experience
· constipation;
· dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or decreased appetite;
· dizziness, tiredness, or lightheadedness;
· muscle twitches;
· sweating;
· itching;
· decreased urination; or
· decreased sex drive lortab.
