What is the most important information I should know about Lasix?
• To reduce nighttime urination, take Lasix early in the day unless otherwisedirected by your doctor lasix medication.

What is Lasix?
• Lasix is in a class of drugs called loop diuretics (water pills) lasix medication. Itdecreases the amount of fluid in the body by increasing the amount of salt andwater lost in the urine lasix medication.

What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking Lasix?
• Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have
· an allergy to sulfa medicines such as sulfa-based antibiotics,
· kidney disease,
· liver disease,
· diabetes mellitus,
· gout, or
· systemic lupus erythematosus lasix medication.
• You may not be able to take Lasix, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the conditions listedabove lasix medication.
• Lasix is in the FDA pregnancy category C lasix medication. This means that it is not knownwhether Lasix will be harmful to an unborn baby lasix medication. Do not take Lasix without firsttalking to your doctor if you are pregnant or could become pregnant during treatment lasix medication.

How should I take Lasix?

• If you take one dose daily, take the missed dose as soon as you rememberwithin 12 hours lasix medication. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip the dose you missedand take only the next regularly scheduled dose lasix medication. Do not take a double dose ofthis medication lasix medication.
• If you take more than one dose daily, take the missed dose up to 2 hourslate lasix medication. If more than 2 hours have passed, skip the missed dose and take only thenext regularly scheduled dose lasix medication. Do not take a double dose of this medication lasix medication.
What happens if I overdose?
• Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose is suspected lasix medication.
• Symptoms of a Lasix overdose include weakness, muscle cramps, fatigue,dizziness, fainting, confusion, irregular pulse, nausea, and vomiting lasix medication.
What should I avoid while taking Lasix?
• Use alcohol cautiously lasix medication. Alcohol may increase the side effects of Lasix lasix medication.
What are the possible side effects of Lasix
• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop takingLasix and seek emergency medical attention or call your doctor immediately:
· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat;swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
· muscle cramps or weakness;
· an irregular heartbeat;
· abdominal pain or diarrhea;
· low blood pressure (weakness, dizziness, fatigue); or
· decreased hearing lasix medication.
• Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur lasix medication. Continueto take Lasix and talk to your doctor if you experience
· dry mouth or increased thirst;
· headache, dizziness, or lightheadedness;
· constipation;
· increased sensitivity to sunlight;
· a rash;
· jaundice (yellow skin or eyes);
· ringing in the ears;
· nausea;
· easy bleeding or bruising; or
· numbness in the hands or feet lasix medication.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur lasix medication. Talk to yourdoctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome lasix medication.
What other drugs will affect Lasix?
• Before taking Lasix tell your doctor if you are taking any of the followingmedications:
· lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith, others);
· probenecid (Benemid);
· a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) such as ibuprofen (Motrin,Advil, Nuprin), naproxen (Naprosyn, Anaprox, Aleve), ketoprofen (Orudis, OrudisKT, Oruvail), indomethacin (Indocin), diclofenac (Cataflam, Voltaren), etodolac(Lodine), nabumetone (Relafen), oxaprozin (Daypro), piroxicam (Feldene), sulindac(Clinoril), tolmetin (Tolectin), fenoprofen (Nalfon), ketorolac (Toradol), orflurbiprofen (Ansaid); or
· a diabetes medication such as glipizide (Glucotrol), glyburide (Micronase,Glynase, Diabeta), chlorpropamide (Diabinese), tolazamide (Tolinase), tolbutamide(Orinase), and others lasix medication.
• You may not be able to take Lasix, or you may require a dosage adjustmentor special monitoring during treatment if you are taking any of the medicationslisted above lasix medication.
• Also, before taking Lasix, tell your doctor if you are taking any othermedicine to treat high blood pressure, water retention, heart problems, prostateproblems, or another condition lasix medication. Some medicines used to treat these conditionsmay interact with Lasix and the effects on your heart may be increased lasix medication.
